AMH (anti mullerian hormone) plays an important role in our embryonic life and is a glycoprotein chemical. It's present both in women and men. Doctors can know much about the fertility of a female by calculating the level of AMH. Many times age and gender are the two factors on which the level of AMH depends. Get Best Low AHM Ayurvedic Treatment in India with dr. Jyoti Ayuveda.
In the ovaries AMH is produced from the follicles and is a hormone. The female egg or ovum is situated in sacs which are termed as follicles. The egg reserve or ovarian reserve of a lady is indicated by AMH levels. The number of follicles can be detected by the level of AMH in the blood of the patient.
All of the eggs a woman will ever have is already present in her at the time of her birth. Inside specialized follicles in the ovary the eggs are formed. In response to the hormonal changes at the time of each menstrual cycle a group of follicles become mature and one of them will ovulate after completing the development. And the others will again dissolve. And this process diminishes the egg reserve as the woman grows old. And so the women with special conditions are asked to have an early pregnancy by the doctors.
It predicts the menopause beginning, a situation which occurs in women due to multiple reasons which stop the menstrual cycle of the woman and ultimately she loses her chance to get pregnant. This helps in finding out the reason behind the early occurrence of menopause in a woman’s life. Many women deal with lack of menstruation which is termed as amenorrhea mostly seen in the girls who haven't started menstruating by the age of 15 and this could be detected with the help of AMH level test. PCOS and hormonal disorders causing difficulty in pregnancy can also be diagnosed with the help of this test.
For a fertile woman the AMH level typically would be 1.0–4.0 ng/ml. And the low AMH levels are the ones under 1.0 ng/ml and this is a result of diminished ovarian reserve.
Many of you might be wondering Why do AMH levels drop? Read ahead to know the reason:
AMH level is highly influenced by age as the number of follicles reduce naturally with age.
Genes are also somewhere associated with the level of AMH. And thus many women acquire this problem due to their genes.
Many women face a decrease in AMH level due to different types of medications due to endometriosis, ovarian cysts etc which influence their AMH level.
The negative impact on the AMH level also occurs due to the immunity issues in a woman.
As we all know stress adversely affects the hormones and thus it also influences the AMH level and leads to poor ovarian reserve.
Women have unhealthy eating and living styles which might also lead to imbalance in hormones and thus causing Low AMH.
There are no obvious or specific symptoms for Low AMH. In general some of you might have irregular menstrual cycles and find it difficult to conceive. A blood test is required to diagnose this condition. How Does Low AMH Affect Fertility? With low AMH you are likely to have problems with ovulation (egg rupture) which makes it difficult for conception.
A depletion in the ovarian reserve is the condition which is termed as low AMH. Ayurveda encompasses all aspects which gradually leads towards the situation and thus sees a bigger picture. Ayurveda works on treating the root cause of low AMH which is the quality of ovum, the disturbed hormones and the response of the ovarian reserve to the hormones.
There are three treatments which are recommended in ayurveda for improving the condition of low AMH, these include : shamana, shodhana and rasayana.
Shamana: In this treatment to balance the dosha, internal medications are provided to the patient and it gradually works on improving metabolism and restoring hormonal balance. Medication provided in the shamana also works on other health conditions of the woman if any like thyroid issues, overweight or obesity, diabetes or insulin resistance etc.
Shodhana: A therapy used to eliminate the toxins from the body of the patient and thereby correcting the metabolism and physiological balance is termed as Shodhana. This is done by performing the panchakarma procedures like nasyam, vamanam, virechanam, vasti and raktamokshana. And as per the health conditions, dosha and hormonal levels of the patient any one or more of these therapies will be performed.
And to improve AMH level there are some other therapies which we apply on the patient like uttara vasti, yoni pichu etc.
Uttarbasti: In uttarbasti we insert kadha, ayurvedic oils and herbs inside the uterus. Uttarbasti is a specialized practice in ayurveda. Uttarbasti is an effective practice performed on women dealing with low AMH, or women having thin endometrium. In this procedure we are preparing the uterus for successful implantation.
Rasayana: The word rasayan means attaining excellent rasadi dhatu. It helps in attaining optimum quality and quantity of rasa dhatus results in nourishing all the tissue and ovum in the body. It improves microcirculation in the body especially in the uterus.
The special diet which a patient must follow, the lifestyle they must follow and the medications are all part of Rasayana and they will work on the physical health of the patient, the strength and the hormonal imbalance.
The level of AMH might be the main issue but ayurveda sees the bigger picture and tries to improve the health of reproductive and endocrine systems which will balance the hormones and as a result restore the right level of AMH. Ayurveda works on improving the condition of ovaries so that it could produce healthy ovum which will improve the chance of pregnancy. To incorporate a natural pregnancy this treatment will help you. This treatment will help you get pregnant and will help to maintain the pregnancy and help in giving birth to a healthy child.

AMH levels tend to decline as you get older and there are many reasons for it. Such as :AgeGenetic factors EndometriosisAuto-immune diseases Cancer treatment Excessive smokingPollutionObesityStress
‘AMH’ means ‘anti mullerian hormone’. AMH is a glycoprotein chemical that has important functions in our embryonic life as well as adult reproductive health. It is a hormone that is a substance produced by granulosa cells in ovarian follicles.Having a low AMH level means that a woman has a low ovarian reserve (egg supply). A woman might have difficulty but it doesn't mean that you cannot conceive naturally.
A normal AMH level for a fertile woman is 1.0–4.0 ng/ml. Levels under 1.0 ng/ml are considered low. Low AMH levels indicate a diminished ovarian reserve (egg supply).
Low AMH is not exactly the cause of infertility but an indicator of the state of depleted ovarian reserve. AMH levels help to show how many potential egg cells a woman has left. If a woman's ovarian reserve is high, she may have a better chance of getting pregnant. But if it is low, she may also have to wait months or years before trying to get pregnant.
There are three aspects of ayurvedic treatments viz shamana, shodhana and rasayana.Shamana treatment means using internal medications to balance the ‘dosha’, to improve metabolism (deepana and pachana) and hormonal balance.Shodhana treatment is a process of taking the metabolic toxins out of the body and thereby correcting the metabolism and physiological balance through panchakarma procedures including nasyam, vamanam, virechanam, vasti and raktamokshana.Rasayana treatment includes medicines, lifestyle changes, and diet which will rejuvenate the body in a way to improve physical strength, hormonal balance, and reproductive health.
