You might have seen elders suggesting pregnant ladies to read ramayan or bhagavad gita or to listen to bhajans. The motive was not to make them feel bored or something it was done to educate the child inside her. Mother is the first teacher to the child.. And do you know which is the safest place for any child in this world?
It's the mother’s womb. A place inside her body which protects her child from the world and a place from where the child is getting ready to face this cruel world. Pregnancy is the only time when your child will hear everything you say without getting influenced by anyone so why don’t you teach them something which will be there with them for the whole life. Garbh Sanskar is the purest form of knowledge which a mother provides to her child and it's the most important one.
It is studied by doctors and philosophers that a child’s brain starts to develop from the day of woman's conceptions and it then keeps on developing day by day. The child in the womb of the mother is able to listen to the sounds of the outside environment and the baby can feel the mood swings, thoughts and emotions of the mother. And so the teachings and education provided to the baby while he/she is inside the mother’s womb is very crucial.
The way a potter builds a pot is something which is his imagination and thus the child is a mother’s hope and to bring somebody in this world who is exactly like the way you thought he will be is through garbh sanskar.
Educating a child while in the mother's womb is termed as Garbh Sanskar. and The process to educate an unborn baby present inside the mother’s womb is termed as Garbh Sanskar. A baby’s brain keeps on developing each and every minute inside the womb and while his brain is under the making process it's very essential for the outside world, especially the mother, to provide a healthy, happy, and joyful environment to the child. Garbh Sanskar teaches the mother the way to carry herself and lifestyle to follow while she is pregnant.
We believe that pregnancy should be by choice and not by chance, so should be carefully planned and managed as per the principles of Garbh Sanskar giving the parents complete control during this development phase of the fetus
1. Invoke a divine soul
2. Enhance chances of conception
3. Holistic development of fetus in womb.
4. Improved chances of natural and healthy delivery
Garbh sanskar is not only about the care taken during pregnancy, but about starting preparations at least a year before conception. Garbh Sanskar covers pre- pregnancy, pregnancy as well as the breastfeeding phase, guiding parents until the child is about 2 years old.
The knowledge of garbh sanskar dates back to ancient scriptures and is included in the ayurveda. The word garbh in Sanskrit refers to the fetus in the womb, and Sanskar means education of the mind. So, garbh sanskar translates into the process of educating the mind of an unborn baby. It is traditionally believed that a child’s mental and behavioral development starts in the womb as it can be influenced by the mother’s emotional state while she carries the baby. The practice has been a part of hindu tradition since time immemorial and is evidenced by stories of how garbh sanskar had a very positive effect on mythological characters like abhimanyu, ashtavakra and prahlad who were enlightened in their mother’s womb.
Garbh Sanskar At Dr Jyoti Ayurveda This is a process in which we help the pregnant lady to convey good values to the baby’s mind. This process is based on the concept of a sculptor who converts a stone into a good idol. It’s a process in which the artist first thinks and tries to fix a picture which he wants to make from the stone. Then he continuously works daily to transform the stone into a very good attractive sculpture. It’s only possible due to his continuous efforts to build a good sculpture according to his desire. The same concept Dr Jyoti has developed a procedure which helps the pregnant women to convey the good values in the baby's mind and to develop the child in the way she has made a picture in mind. This is only possible when a lady adopts the process and performs it continuously throughout the pregnancy. Sanskar also means to develop good qualities. Every successful person in his life is due to the qualities in him. So Dr Jyoti has developed a process to develop such qualities. The qualities such as acceptance, adaptability, awareness, confidence, creativity and much more can be developed through a process.
Dr Jyoti has developed a process which helps the lady to be in a happy state of mind throughout the pregnancy period and to enjoy every moment of the pregnancy period. This process also helps to overcome the stress during the pregnancy period which is developed due to various environments such, work, family, social, friends etc.
This is a technique developed on the basis of yogic process “ Dharana”. This helps the pregnant lady to experience the baby in the way she has imagined and created the picture in the mind.
This is the process in which we help the pregnant lady to connect with the baby’s mind and communicate with the baby and share her thoughts with the baby in the womb.
Yoga asanas performed during pregnancy helps the lady to develop the muscles strength and tone. This helps her to sustain the stress on the body and helps to be healthy throughout the pregnancy period. The stretching exercises and asanas help to keep the lady away from back pain which is developed during the pregnancy. This has a particular schedule. Month’s wise and trimesters wise schedule is given to the ladies to perform Yoga Asanas.
Depending on the trimester of the pregnancy, the classical based bandish, bhajans, mantras are performed in front of pregnant ladies. Active and passive participation of the pregnant ladies give them a feel of happiness. This helps them to live in the present and enjoy every moment of pregnancy. The baby's reaction to the bhajans, mantras and classical singing can be experienced . This is to be experienced by a lady. This experience gives a feel of getting connected with her child.
Importance of diet during pregnancy is very important for the development of a child. Ayurveda has explained a perfect way of diet during pregnancy. Ayurveda says that all the elements in the body are nourished from the diet which we consume. The food which is consumed by the pregnant lady nourishes the baby in the womb. It is very important that every pregnant woman should keep her digestion very good. If her digestion is good then only the baby will get good nourishment. Perfect guidance of diet is given based on every individual and her prakruti and month of pregnancy.

Ayurveda says that during pregnancy one should always balance their Vata Dosha. This can be best done by consuming a diet of fresh, plant-based, whole or sprouted grains as well as non-processed foods.
Begin your day with a full-body self-massage. Apply warm sesame oil with an open palm using long strokes along the long bones and circular strokes on the joints. Massage the abdomen gently. Massaging of the nipples is recommended after the 4th month. After abhyanga, take a warm water bath. It helps to open the channel of circulation.
Basti is performed inorder to ensure that the delivery is normal and the body is ready for the delivery. Basti is indicated in Garbhini Paricharya (routine antenatal care) after completion of seven months of pregnancy. Basti is the introduction of herbal decoctions and medicated oils into the colon through the rectum. While it directly affects the colon, it is not a localized or symptomatic treatment. It is a highly specialized procedure aimed to achieve a therapeutic goal and must be carried out in hospital settings by an expert. Basti works in the region of the colon, but its impact is so far reaching and deep that simply calling this process an enema does not do it justice.
Stress is your body's reaction to emotional and physical alteration that arises during pregnancy or thought that makes you feel angry, frustrated, or nervous. Shirodhara effectively alleviates stress from the mind and body. When an Ayurvedic practitioner pours warm oil and massages the head gently, it brings calmness, facilitates relaxation, and promotes tranquility. Shirodhara therapy is excellent for treating hypertension and arrhythmia in pregnancy. So now that you know you can have a sankari child with garbh sanskar, try to include it in your pregnancy period. After your child is born you will send her/him to the best school or college so they could grab knowledge but Ayurveda tries to make your baby learn from the time you conceive. Sitting and crying in future because of the bad manners your child adopted is of no use, try giving birth to a better generation with your sanskar.
