Tubal Blockage: Causes, Symptoms, Treatment Including Ayurveda

Tubal  Blockage Factor (Fallopian Tubes) Infertility:

So women usually ovulate about once a month, right? When the ovary releases an egg, it hangs out in the fallopian tube for 12 to 24 hours. If it gets fertilized during that time, it implants in the uterus. Otherwise, it gets passed with the period blood and uterine lining.

The egg usually gets fertilized in the fallopian tube. That's why that's the spot where fertilization happens and the tube helps the egg travel from the ovary to the uterus. But remember, a fertilized egg doesn't grow in the fallopian tube. It grows in the uterus.

However, a fertilized egg can start growing in the fallopian tube if it gets fertilized there but can't make it to the uterus. This can occur if the tube is blocked or damaged. In a tube that's not working right, if the egg gets fertilized there it may get stuck and begin developing in the tube.

If the egg starts growing in the fallopian tube, that's a big problem that needs quick treatment. A pregnancy like that is called an ectopic pregnancy. A blocked or damaged tube can also cause issues getting pregnant later on.

Impaired fertility resulting from damage or obstruction in the fallopian tube:

In the presence of blockage or damage within the fallopian tube, the passage of the egg may be hindered, preventing its journey to the uterus. This obstruction can also impede the union of sperm and egg, leading to the inability of the egg to undergo fertilization.

Each woman possesses two ovaries and two fallopian tubes. Should one fallopian tube be impaired or obstructed, conception remains possible through the unaffected tube. However, when both fallopian tubes are blocked, it can result in infertility.

Tubal Blockage Reasons:

There are a few conditions that can cause a tubal blockage. They are:

Fibroids are benign growths that may form in or around the fallopian tubes, ovaries, or obstruct blood flow to the uterus. While not always a cause of infertility, they can impact fertility in certain cases. The ability to give birth without complications varies among women with fibroids, depending on factors such as size and location.

Pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) can be caused by specific bacteria, with Chlamydia and gonorrhea being the most prevalent. These bacteria can enter the reproductive tract, leading to scarring and inflammation in the tissue. If PID progresses to the fallopian tube, it may result in blockage or damage due to scarring and swelling.

Endometriosis involves the accumulation of endometrial-like tissue in various regions of the reproductive system. This tissue resembles the endometrium, which is composed of endometrial tissue.

Similar to the endometrial tissue within the uterus that stores blood, the endometrial-like tissue outside the uterus also undergoes breaking and bleeding during menstrual periods. When this tissue develops in the fallopian tubes, it has the potential to obstruct them.

Untreated Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs) may lead to infertility, as the infection, when not addressed, has the potential to progress to the fallopian tubes, causing damage.

Previous Abdominal Surgery Abdominal surgery or unsafe abortion may also be responsible for damage in the fallopian tube.

Previous Ectopic Pregnancy During an ectopic (tubal) pregnancy, a fertilized egg becomes trapped in the fallopian tube. The blockage or damage may persist even after the treatment of the ectopic pregnancy.

Hydrosalpinx For certain reasons, fluid might become trapped in the fallopian tube, leading to blockage. This condition, characterized by the accumulation of fluid and blockage, is referred to as hydrosalpinx.

Tubal Blockage Symptoms:

Tubal blockages typically manifest without symptoms. However, symptoms may become apparent in cases of hydrosalpinx, where a woman might experience lower abdominal pain due to the accumulation of fluid in the tube.

Treatment Of Tubal Blockage

In contemporary medical practice, surgical procedures are commonly employed to address tubal blockages. In situations where natural pregnancy proves challenging, a woman may be considered for intrauterine insemination or in vitro fertilization. Additionally, Ayurveda offers natural treatment options for tubal blockage.

Fallopian Tube Blockage Treatment Without Surgery

You can get Fallopian Tube Blockage Treatment Without Surgery in Ayurveda. Ayurvedic doctors treat patients through herbs, therapies, dietary modifications, and yoga/meditation.

Uttar Basti therapy emerges as a potent treatment for fallopian tube blockage and various gynecological issues. During this therapy, a healthcare professional administers a medicated decoction into the uterus using a thin tube inserted through the vagina. The healing effects of this medicated decoction target and address blockages and damage within the fallopian tube.

Herbs are prescribed to enhance fertility and provide additional health benefits. To address infertility issues, appointments can be scheduled at Dr Jyoti Ayurveda Clinic.
